Nexus One

The firstborn of Googlephones was considered a top of the line for the standards of the time. Designed by HTC, the aircraft was equipped with a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon and Adreno 200 graphics processor. Yet what really drew attention was the AMOLED screen of 3.7 inches with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. For comparison, the iPhone 3GS - another novelty at the time - had only 320 x 480 pixels resolution.
Despite receiving good marks in reviews and be considered by the specialized press as one of the few handsets able to enjoy the full power of Android 2.1 (Eclair), the Nexus One didn't please the consumer. Not advertising - one of the few - in the Google homepage was able to reverse the failure in sales.
One reason was the company's decision to only sell the Nexus One in its own virtual store. The company's goal was good in theory: to make buyers don't stay dependent on the plans of the operators. The idea, however, has not worked. In less than eight months Google has declared the death of its first smartphone, closing the online store and stopping its production, leaving the partner stores restricted to a few countries in Europe and Asia sales. Many rumors abound that the Nexus One would land up in Brazil, but this didn't materialize.
